Step 1: Download the App

1. Open Alipay and select Sign Up.

3. Enter the 4-to-6 digit SMS verification code sent to your phone.

4. If prompted to switch to Alipay International Version, tap YES. (This gives you a clean, simplified English interface!)

Step 3: Real-Name Passport Verification

1. In the bottom menu, tap Me > Settings (gear icon) > Account & Security.

2. Select Identity Verification.

3. Fill in your full name exactly as spelled in your passport.

4. Take a clear photo of your passport’s main photo/data page. (Tip: Avoid glare on the passport lamination so the AI scanner accepts it right away!)

5. Complete the quick facial recognition scan if prompted.

Step 4: Link Your International Bank Card

1. Go back to Me > Bank Cards > Add Card.

2. Enter your card details (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).

3. Complete your home bank’s 3D Secure Verification (via SMS code or banking app approval).

2. The Merchant Scans You (Tap “Pay/Collect”): Tap Pay/Receive on your home screen. Show your personal barcode/QR code to the cashier or store wand, and the system automatically deducts the funds.
